Series of North American burners can be used both for oil and gas. For oil firing (two) air ports are given , one for the combustion air and other for atomising air. The oil is fed at a pressure of 25 to 30 psi and is atomised by atomising air. the oil particles comes out as mist which then again broken by combustion air, so burning all the fuel without any CO formation.
The switching from oil to gas operation can be changed quickly by closing one fuel valve and opening the other.
